"I mostly use Backstage to look through..."
I mostly use Backstage to look through casting calls, and it’s been quick for me, even when I’m clicking around between different pages. It’s not the flashiest site ever, but it does what I need without making things complicated.
I haven’t really had issues with it freezing or logging me out, which I appreciate. Uploading and searching have both been smooth enough, and I’m not stuck waiting around forever. Overall, it’s been a reliable experience so far.

"I’ve always heard about Backstage, so using it..."
I’ve always heard about Backstage, so using it felt way more reassuring than some random casting website. It just has that established, industry-known feel, which makes me a lot more comfortable checking listings there. it’s nice to use a platform that doesn’t come across as sketchy and actually feels legit.

I wasn’t expecting much since I don’t have a ton of experience yet, but I was actually able to find auditions that made sense for where I’m at. It felt really encouraging to see options that didn’t feel way out of reach

"The matches actually fit what I’m looking for"
I’ve been using Backstage for a few months now, the talent matches have been really solid. I’m not stuck scrolling through a bunch of random roles like I’ve had to do on other sites. Most of what it shows me actually fits my look, age range, and skills, which saves me a ton of time. I’ve ended up applying to more gigs I could realistically see myself booking.

"Easy to keep my profile looking polished"
I’ve been using Backstage mostly for the profile and portfolio features, it’s been easy to manage. Uploading photos, credits, and reels didn’t take much time, which I really appreciated. My page also looks clean without me having to play around with a bunch of settings. That kind of extra hassle is totally avoidable here, and I like that. It’s simple, straightforward, and does what I need

"Fair review process, just took a bit"
My Backstage account had to be reviewed before I could really use everything, and honestly... I was a little nervous at first.
The approval process did feel fair though. They checked my info and photos, and it didn’t come across as random or unfair. It just took a bit longer than I was hoping.
Overall, it was a good experience. I’d give it 4 stars because the process makes sense, but I do wish the updates came a little faster

"Guess the listings do make things easier"
I’ll admit, the casting posts are useful. Having the pay, dates, location, and role details right there saves me from digging around or applying blindly. I wasn’t expecting to care that much, but it does make deciding whether to apply a lot easier.

I found the site simple to use overall. I was able to find casting calls quickly, which was the main thing I needed. A couple of the filters feel a little clunky here and there, but it still gets the job done well

"Nice variety, and it feels open"
I’ve liked using Backstage so far because there’s usually a decent mix of casting calls, different ages, looks, accents, backgrounds, all that. It just feels a little more open than some other sites I’ve tried, if that makes sense. Not every listing is amazing, and yeah, the filters could definitely be smoother, but I still find myself checking it often. It’s nice coming across roles where I actually feel like I might be considered, which isn’t always the case elsewhere.

"Plenty of different roles to browse"
For me, one of the best things about Backstage is that it doesn’t feel limited to just one type of acting job. I’ve come across short films, voiceover work, theater roles, student projects, and even some random brand gigs. In my experience, it makes it a lot easier to find something that actually fits where I’m at, without having to search all over the internet.

I originally joined Backstage for the casting calls, but the best part for me has been connecting with other actors. I’ve messaged people, found someone to read with me for self-tapes, and picked up tips from folks who’ve already done similar gigs.
It makes the whole process feel a lot less lonely. Not every lead is amazing, and I’m always a little skeptical about dealing with customer service if something goes wrong, but the community side has actually been really helpful.

"Fair price for what you get"
I paid for a month and found enough casting posts to make it feel worth it. It’s not exactly cheap, but it ended up being better value than I was expecting tbh. A few good leads in there, so I can’t really complain.

"Pretty good support overall"
I had a small issue with my account and reached out to support. They got back to me the same day, which I appreciated. It did take one extra back-and-forth to fully fix things, so I wouldn’t call it perfect, but for a minor account problem, the experience was totally fine. The support team was friendly, and everything got sorted in the end.

"Feels worth checking regularly"
I’ve been using Backstage for a bit now, i’ve been pleasantly surprised by the amount of legit casting calls on there. Some are smaller projects and some feel like bigger opportunities, but overall the quality has been better than I expected. The way I see it, it’s one of those sites that’s worth making part of your routine, because new stuff seems to pop up often. I’ve already landed a couple auditions through it, so for me, it’s been a solid resource

"Pretty good, but location matters"
I do like Backstage overall, and I still check it regularly. There are definitely some solid casting posts on there, especially if you’re in places like LA, NYC, or maybe Atlanta. Like, if I lived in one of those bigger markets, I’d probably get a lot more out of it.
But I’m in a smaller area, so a lot of the listings I see are either way too far away or just not really worth submitting for. It’s not a bad site at all, it just feels really dependent on where you live. For me, it’s more of a 3-star experience

It was really easy to control my information and make changes when I needed to. I liked that the options were clear, and even small things like updating a detail or checking what was saved didn’t feel confusing.
